2022 Florida Mission of Mercy in Tallahassee!
It takes many volunteers to serve our patients & we couldn't provide quality dental care for more than 1,000 patients in two days without volunteers like YOU!!
In addition to our need for volunteers during the two-day clinic, we need volunteers to help set up the clinic on Wednesday March 9th and Thursday March 10th. Please consider helping if your schedule allows.
It is also important to note that although the clinic is a first come, first served event on March 11-12, we do offer a very limited number of pre-registration appointments for community groups, medically fragile patients, and veterans during the afternoon of Thursday, March 10.
The pre-registration appointment on Thursday, March 10 enables the patient to complete all necessary paperwork, and visit with the medical triage, radiology, and dental triage departments.
After being cleared by the medical triage department, the patient is asked to return the following day for treatment. Patient pre-registration enables the patient to bypass the long line and wait time for those who arrive on a first come, first serve basis beginning Friday, March 11th.
Please read the following information carefully so that your registration will be accurate and complete.
Dentists and hygienists who wish to volunteer in a clinical capacity (i.e., providing treatment) must complete their volunteer registration by February 18, 2022 in order to verify licenses and ensure that all clinical positions are filled.
Dentists and hygienists must have a clear and active license in order to provide treatment services to FLA-MOM patients.
Out-of-state dentists must register by January 15, 2022 in order to allow time for your credentials to be reviewed. A separate survey will be sent to you.
General volunteer registration will stay open through the duration of the event.
Due to liability reasons, all volunteers must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
Please use your preferred name and email address when completing the volunteer registration. All volunteer instructions regarding the 2022 FLA-MOM will be communicated via email. Each registrant must have a unique email address. Your name will appear on your name badge as you have entered it in the volunteer registration process.
You can choose your volunteer position.
Volunteer shifts are divided into a.m. and p.m. shifts. Most shifts are 7am to 1pm or 1pm to 7pm. There may be a point on Saturday that your department will be done seeing patients prior to 7pm - we ask that you stay and help your department pack up and offer to help pack up in other areas of the clinic. You will receive full credit for the entire volunteer shift.
You may sign up for both shifts, and you may switch jobs or keep the same position. Please select a position you will be comfortable performing for six to seven hours. Hygienists may only work one hygiene shift per day.
Each shift has a maximum number of slots, which will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Since specialists are limited to practice in their specialty, we ask that general dentists consider signing up for shifts like restorative, triage, etc.
Shift times are firm. Every volunteer is asked to arrive 30-45 minutes prior to their scheduled shift time Friday and Saturday and must check-in at Volunteer Registration to pick up your t-shirt and name badge before volunteering. Early arrival takes into consideration parking time, attending volunteer registration, eating at our volunteer cafe prior to your shift and a general department orientation and job-specific training. Volunteers arriving on Wednesday and Thursday morning should not show up early for their shifts - these are our set up days and do not require training.
- Please note that all volunteers will receive a volunteer certificate with their service hours. Clinical volunteers may use this volunteer certificate and self-report hours needed to appropriate agencies.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided on-site each day. Breaks may be taken as needed.
