Description:
Successfully managing a medical emergency is significantly different than merely knowing about medical emergencies. This course will be presented in a Socratic approach and is ideal for dental offices to attend as a team (although individual attendees are also welcomed). Throughout the course, attendees will be presented with challenging, lifelike medical situations which could easily occur during routine dental treatment. This course satisfies the current Florida Board of Dentistry's four-hour airway management and medical emergencies continuing education requirement to maintain a sedation permit, effective 3/1/2020. FS64B5-14.004 - Each biennium, all dentists who hold an active sedation permit of any level must complete a four hour board-approved continuing education education course in Medical Emergencies. The continuing education required by this subsection may be included in the thirty (30) hours required by Section 466.0135, F.S. (2) To be approved by the board, the Medical Emergencies continuing education course must include a hands-on airway management component. Attendance is limited to 30.
