Description:

This lecture will review the advantages and disadvantages of immediate versus delayed implant placement. A description of implant complications, why they happen and how to diagnose and treat accordingly will be covered. Dr. Hobbs will present a comprehensive review on choosing the correct abutment versus stock abutment to allow for long term success of the implant and prosthesis. The course will also give hints and tips for solving everyday issues that come up in implant treatment from placement to restoration.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • understand the reasons why implants fail.
  • troubleshoot the causes and identify how to prevent failures. 
  • lead a discussion on the type of abutment choice.
