Description:

The short answer is YES! This lecture will discuss solutions for challenges that are commonly seen by practicing dentists, such as fractured cusps, deep decay and crowns placed too far subgingivally. With a combination of case examples and radiographs, this lecture will offer solutions to help you overcome those issues. Dr. Kohner will review diagnostic decisions for both aesthetic and functional procedures, including how biologic width influences daily restorative decisions. This lecture targets dentists looking to both save more teeth and improve restorative results, as well as include indications and contraindications. The attendee will learn to coordinate with periodontists and laboratory technicians to create a TEAM approach. This lecture will be thought-provoking in showing how even compromised teeth can become excellent restorative candidates, and not be turned into an implant. This is a two-part course (C09 and W07) that is best attended as a full-day experience for comprehensive learning. You must register and pay for both courses for the full-day experience. However, attendees may choose to take the lecture course only.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • learn how to make predictable impressions every time.
  • understand why bone management is the key for success.
  • discover why crowns come loose and how to prevent it.
  • recognize the causes of red gum tissue around margins.
  • know how to diagnose and plan aesthetic crown lengthening.
  • learn how to coordinate surgery with restorative procedures.
  • understand how to better communicate with the laboratory.
