Utilizing Site-Specific, Advanced Implants for Full Arch Reconstruction: Hands-On Workshop

Course Code: W04
Speaker: Dr. Jason Portnof, DMD, MD
Co-Speaker(s): Dr. Michael London, DMD
CE Hours: 4.00
Start: Thursday, June 24, 2021, 8:00 AM
End: Thursday, June 24, 2021, 12:00 PM
Track: ORAL SURGERY, TREATMENT PLANNING
Audience: Dentists

Description:

With the increased costs and patient morbidity due to bone grafting often required in full-arch implant reconstruction, an increased patient resistance to implant treatment has been noted. In such patients with suboptimal bone volume, bone grafts can be avoided by placing site-specific zygomatic, angled and wider implants in available bone ultimately optimizing and accelerating patients’ treatment. With good primary stability these implants can also be loaded immediately for immediate reconstruction and immediate function. In this workshop, attendees will perform prosthetic treatment planning of zygomatic, angled and wide body implants and place angled and wide body dental implants on training models. Attendance is limited to 35.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • review and understand the digital workflow and implant treatment planning for full-arch reconstruction.

  • understand the benefits of using site-specific zygomatic, angled and immediate wide body implants in full-arch implant reconstructions with immediate function.

  • identify cases suitable for site-specific implants.

  • grasp the surgical techniques for the placement of angled and wide body dental implants.

Participant Requirements:

Loupes and headlights are recommended.
