Course Code: C09
Speaker: Dr. Dwight Pate, DMD, PA
CE Hours: 3.00
Start: Thursday, June 24, 2021, 9:00 AM
End: Thursday, June 24, 2021, 12:00 PM
Audience: Dentists, Assistants, Hygienists, Administrative Staff, Dental Student

How a patient is introduced to a practice will set the tone for everything to follow. The New Patient Examination and Consultation (NPEC), if done properly, will set the bar high and improve patient communication. If efficiency and thoroughness is demonstrated during a patient examination, and passion and compassion are shown during the consultation, patients are more likely to say “yes” to recommended treatment plans. In this lecture, attendees will learn how to set the tone for high-quality patient experiences and treatment delivery with the use of common computerized systems that will help the entire dental team remain consistent in data collection and effective in presentation. Improve patient connections and trust by strengthening the dental team’s structure and resources. This is a two-part course (C09 and DD02) that is bets attended as a full-day learning experience. For comprehensive learning, you must register and pay for both courses for the full-day experience. However, attendees may choose to take the lecture course only.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • learn the concepts and components of the New Patient Examination and Consultation (NPEC).
  • understand the process of the NPEC from the initial phone call through the examination and consultation.
  • identify how common computer systems can standardize the entire NPEC process.
  • understand how common computer systems can make treatment presentation more educational and effective for the patient and the dental team.
  • recognize the photos needed and new ways of using these photos to illustrate patient treatment during consultation.
  • learn to do all of this with relatively inexpensive common computer systems that do not require expensive monthly or annual subscription fees.
