Dentists are responsible for providing the most comprehensive care to patients as possible. This lecture will serve to educate, empower and encourage dentists in exodontia.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • identify when to retain and when to extract teeth.
  • recognize when to refer a patient and when to treat the patient in-office.
  • refute four common myths that often discourage providers from delivering immediate treatment.
  • identify conditions that warrant antibiotic therapy either pre- or post-operatively and those that don’t.
  • recognize when to remove teeth non-surgically and when surgery is needed.
  • identify both standard and surgical armamentarium/procedures used to atraumatically remove various maxillary and mandibular teeth.
