Description:

This two-day mini-residency will take attendees through the spectrum of implant dentistry. Day 1 will focus on the diagnosis and treatment planning aspects of implant dentistry, with an emphasis on the fundamentals of dental implants, science and technology of osseointegraton and technologies currently used to plan for therapy. The afternoon will focus on the surgical placement of the dental implant, with an emphasis on surgical techniques and protocols. Attendees will place implants using hands-on models. On day 2, attendees will focus on the restoration of the dental implant, with emphasis on techniques, technology and materials used. Attendees will obtain hands- on restorative procedures including impressioning with scan bodies, provisionalization and definitive protocols. A one-hour lunch break will be provided during this course each day. Attendance is limited to 30.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • diagnose and understand digital treatment planning with 3D imaging.

  • learn optimal restorative concepts, such as restoration design, abutment selection and definitive therapy workflows.

  • understand concepts relating to implant selection, occlusion, placement and pharmacology.

  • gain hands-on experience with implant placement, impressions and provisional restorations.
