Description:
If the dental office had a chart audit tomorrow, could the entire team read and comprehend any random treatment entry? Taking this one unfortunate step further, does the team have a sense of how critical comprehensive treatment notes are to managing potential risks? This team-focused lecture will review examples of dental records, language of Florida and other state practice acts as well as violations, while being mindful of the goal of working together and leaving with an action plan for consistently entering comprehensive treatment notes.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • discuss current components of their dental records and review potential pitfalls of others as compared to regulations.
  • review violations of several state dental practice acts pertaining to dental records.
  • locate dental board statute, regulations and scopes of practice to work most efficiently as a team.
  • create an "attention to detail" action plan for better chart entries.
