Description:
This workshop is designed to help educate the dental office professional, as well as staff, on the use of the seven basic medications recommended in the Journal of the American Dental Association and listed in Dr. Stanley Malamed’s textbook, Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office. Avoiding medical emergencies in the dental office will be discussed along with the appropriate response to emerging medical emergencies including his use of medications and devices. Actual medications and devices will be used to demonstrate proper responses. Attendees will leave this workshop with greater knowledge of emergency response in handling the necessary devices and medications in the event of a medical emergency occurring in the dental office. This course does NOT satisfy the Florida Board of Dentistry's four-hour medical emergencies continuing education requirement to maintain a sedation permit. Refer to C50 on Saturday, June 29th for the required course. Attendance is limited to 50.
