Description:
Non-invasive techniques are gaining popularity as practitioners' treatment of choice. Options will be presented for non-invasive treatment along with full-coverage restoration and pulp therapy for primary molars. Extraction for primary dentition and local anesthesia techniques also will be presented. Dr. Soxman will review dental literature along with methods to decrease chair time and heighten confidence when treating pediatric patients.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • understand indications and techniques for non-invasive treatment that include silver diamine fluoride, interim therapeutic restoration and the Hall Technique for primary molars.
  • learn indirect pulp therapy for management of deep caries in young permanent molars.
  • recognize indications and medicaments for vital pulp therapy and full-coverage restorations for primary molars.
  • perform optimal clinical skills for administering local anesthesia to the pediatric patient.
  • implement extraction technique for primary teeth.
