This workshop will provide an introduction to dermal fillers (facial fillers, injectable fillers) and focus on both the cosmetic and therapeutic uses to provide comprehensive patient care and total facial aesthetics in the dental practice.

The lecture portion of this workshop will include a review of pertinent facial and soft-tissue anatomy, current dermal fillers on the market and their indications for use. Specific areas of treatment will be explained and demonstrated. Dermal fillers in a dental environment will be discussed, from the patient consultation to the evaluation and diagnosis, and finally, to the treatment with before-and-after case presentations.

Detailed information will be provided concerning the safety and risk concerns when using dermal fillers, along with the management and treatment of complications, dilution protocols, sterile injection techniques and proper placement for desired outcomes. During the hands-on workshop, attendees will gain valuable insight and pearls on how to incorporate dermal fillers into their dental practice. The potential for practice growth and profitability will be explored, as well as implementation with staff training and incorporation into treatment plans.

In the afternoon hands-on portion, attendees will have the opportunity to diagnose, map and treat a model patient with one-on-one mentored instruction. The specific areas to be injected during the hands-on portion are vermilion border and body of the lip. Upon completion of the full-day workshop, attendees will have the confidence and skills to implement dermal filler treatments into their dental practice. A one-hour lunch break will be provided in this course. Attendance is limited to 15.

*Paid team member learning is a co-learning experience with a paid doctor attendee.
