Description:
This lecture will discuss and illustrate the latest in CAD/CAM digital technology relating to the dentist, dental assistant and dental laboratory technicians. Attendees will learn the basics of occlusion and how it relates to the success of anterior restorations and full-mouth rehabilitation, as well as how to decide what type of restoration is best for patients when facing aesthetic challenges. Attendees will view clinical secrets on preparations, temporaries, impressions, cords, cements, and why shade selection is difficult and how to get it right the first time.

Learning objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • understand the pros and cons between intraoral scanners versus conventional impressions.
  • learn the differences among materials, products and techniques, and choose what’s best for your patient.
  • explain how the CAD/CAM milling process can improve quality and consistency while lowering remakes for better profitability.
  • learn the techniques and materials to get perfect impressions so patients no longer have to deal with crowns that don’t fit.
  • recognize how to end the biggest prep problem that labs see.
  • determine why 92 precent of impressions have bad margins.
  • identify the top enemy after completing a great prep.
  • discover why crowns still come back ugly despite trying several labs.
  • identify the problems associated with color and lighting, and learn how to improve shade-taking ability using a shade guide and linear shade guide, as well as how to avoid problems associated with shade tabs.
  • understand the basics of occlusion in restoring anterior teeth.
  • determine the questions to ask and tools required to achieve excellent anterior aesthetics.
  • gain the communication tools needed to achieve optimal results between the office and the lab.
  • learn the pearls associated with 30 years' experience and more than one million cases produced.
