The Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Renewal Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR for victims of all ages; including ventilation with a barrier device/Ambu bag, use an AED, and relieve foreign body airway obstruction in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course teaches skills with the American Heart Association’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals who wish to renew their CPR/AED certifications. Individuals with an expired certification are required to take the four-hour course on Friday (CP1-2). Upon completion of the course, each participant receives a digital Health Care Provider CPR/AED card valid for two years. Attendance is limited to 50.
